Liebherr, the world's second largest Catholic church tower construction 

Two Liebherr mobile cranes were used to assemble the metal structure of the Nossa Senhora Aparecida national church bell tower in Brazil, St Paul. The church is the second largest Catholic Church in the world, next to the Vatican Papal Basilica of Saint Peter. The bell tower protection structure assembly work completed by the contractor Guindastes Tatuap. The metal structure of the bell tower is 36 meters long and weighs about 97 tons. When the structure is lifted, the horizontal positioning is first carried out, and then one side of the base is fixed with two connecting rods to connect with each other when the mechanism is lifted. At the beginning of the operation, the Liebherr 500 ton crane slowly lifted the structure through the top anchor point to reach its vertical position. The installation of the bell tower mobilized the surrounding area of the church: one of the most important highways adjacent to Brazil (RODOVIA Dutra - connecting St Paul and Rio De Janeiro), and the installation operation can be seen far.
