The project is located in Ulan Bator City, Bagnall District, is the two stand-alone capacity of 350 MW supercritical coal-fired power station, chartered China nuclear industry second construction company using BOT mode, after 4 years of construction, operating for 21 years, 5 years. It is estimated to cost about $1 billion.
The ceremony, Mongolia's prime minister Bilege Khan said, Bagnall power plant is a landmark project in Mongolia in the field of energy cooperation, is Mongolia's first large-scale power plants relying on mineral resources construction nearby. This will not only provide sufficient electricity for Mongolia, but also change the development of the city of Mongolia. The government of Mongolia will strongly support the promotion of the project.
The project is a large-scale power station project built on the basis of Mongolia government's 2012-2016 years' government plan to realize the self sufficiency of Mongolia power. It will ensure the safety and reliability of Mongolia national grid.
Chinese ambassador to Mongolia Xing Haiming said, Bagnall power plant project is the first large-scale power plant project China enterprises in Mongolia started construction, is to "China Belt and Road Initiative" initiative with Mongolia prairie road initiative strategic docking project, which will greatly promote the depth of cooperation between China and Mongolia in manufacturing capacity and environmental protection advanced equipment field.
