The German company, which settled in Chengdu in 2006, has provided 20 conventional shield machines for the Chengdu Metro since it was built on Metro Line 1. "Ten years, we constantly updated shield machine design to adapt to the special geology of Chengdu." When the Chengdu Metro proposed to put a large shield machine on line 18, Herrick completed the design, production and assembly of the first shield machine in only 6 months.
Bai Kun said, such a large shield machine used in subway construction, is the first in the western China. And the machine was built together by Germany and Chengdu. The color parts, including the cutterhead, are manufactured locally in Chengdu, and the white parts such as motors and hydraulic parts are made in germany. Because of the particularity of this shield machine, localization rate is only 40%. The localization rate of conventional shield machine has exceeded 50%.
Custom made is the fastest in the country
Why is line 18 custom made by shield? It's about the fastest in the country. In order to meet the dual functional positioning of the city line and airport line, the speed of the design of train No. 18 adopts the fastest speed of the city railway in China -- 140km/h. In the express mode, only two stops, the whole process is expected to only 35 minutes.
In order to meet the demand of high speed power supply, line 18 needs 2 thousand and 500 volt AC power supply, which requires higher contact network height. At the same time, in order to alleviate the train running at high speed wind, noise requirements, to bring passengers a comfortable ride experience. Therefore, the tunnel design section also expands. After many studies, demonstrations and scientific experiments, the expert group finally determined that Chengdu Metro first used 8.6 meters large diameter shield machine to dig the tunnel, and finally formed a tunnel section of 7.5 meters in diameter.
Zhang Yan, general manager of Chengdu metro construction branch company, introduces that 18 line 8.6 diameter shield machine will be put into the first phase of line 20. The first shield machine is expected by the end of December in Lushan station under wells, in February next year, shield launching. "Because this is the first time to use such a huge shield machine, so the initial speed is expected to be 120 to 150 meters per month, skilled operation after the goal is to reach 180 meters per month."."
Metro line 18 is scheduled to open in 2020
