Remanufacturing engineering is characterized by saving resources, saving energy and protecting the environment. It takes the comprehensive use of information technology, nanotechnology, biotechnology and other high technology as the core, fully embodies the characteristics of independent innovation with Chinese characteristics. Remanufacturing engineering highly conforms to the strategic needs of the state to build a recycling economy, and provides the key technical support for it. Vigorously carrying out green remanufacturing engineering is one of the main ways to achieve circular economy, energy conservation, emission reduction and sustainable development.

In 2005, the global remanufacturing industry output value has exceeded 100 billion US dollars, and the remanufacturing industry in the United States is the largest, reaching 75 billion US dollars. In recent years, Japan has strengthened the remanufacturing of construction machinery. By 2008, 58% of the construction machinery was used by domestic users in Japan, 34% exported to abroad, and the remaining 8% were sold as accessories after dismantling.
Europe and the United States in Remanufacturing Design, combined with specific products, for the manufacturing process of the important design elements such as disassembly performance, parts of the material, design structure and fastening methods and so on; in the manufacturing process, for electronic products, the connotation of remanufacturing is to still have the use value of the parts to be re the use of direct.
China's remanufacturing industry has been developing for more than 10 years.
