Selection according to engineering quality requirements

1., if you want to obtain a uniform density of compaction, you can choose the tire roller. The tyre type roller does not destroy the original viscosity of the soil when rolling, and has good bonding property between the layers of soil, and the front wheel can swing, so the compaction is more uniform, and no false compaction can occur.

2., if you want to make the road compaction flat, you can choose the full drive roller. In areas where the compacting capacity of rollers is not high, a roller with low line pressure and flexible mobility can be used. If the compaction effect is reached as soon as possible, a large tonnage roller can be used to shorten the construction period.

Choose according to highway type (grade):

1. to one or two national highway and road car, 6~10t should be used with high compaction capacity of large vibroll; for the following three roads, or not often compaction, best equipped with about 2T flexible vibratory roller.

2. for the cement concrete pavement, tyre driven series vibratory roller can be used; for the asphalt concrete pavement, all driving vibratory roller should be used;

3. for senior road subgrade bottom, the best selection of tyre roller or wheel drive vibratory compaction, in order to obtain uniform compactness; pavement repair may use static type smooth wheel roller.

According to the thickness of the layer selection:

1. in the roller compacted asphalt concrete pavement, the weight, amplitude and vibration frequency of the roller should be selected according to the paving thickness of the mixture. In general, it is better to use a vibratory vibratory roller of 0.35~0.60mm 2~6t for a thin layer with a thickness of less than 60mm, so as to avoid stacking, surge and damage of aggregate;

2. at the same time, in order to prevent the asphalt mixture is too cold, should be followed by paving after rolling. For thick layers of thickness greater than 100mm, large and medium vibratory rollers with high amplitudes (up to 1.0mm) and 6~10t shall be used.

Select the type of material to be pressed:

1. for rock fill compaction, large tonnage roller should be used to make large blocks displacement; for the compaction of clay, it is better to use block ramming compactor;

2. for the compacted mixture, the best choice of vibration roller, so that the size of pellets mixed evenly; deep compaction should adopt heavy vibratory slow rolling, the shallow layer should choose Static roller.
