The heater is used to preheat the paving temperature of the ironing plate to the asphalt mixture. If the temperature is not enough, it may make the asphalt mixture stick to the cold iron plate and make the paving thickness not enough. When the ironing plate and asphalt mixture contact for a period of time (usually 10 minutes), the temperature of the ironing plate can be maintained through the asphalt mixture from the bottom, so the heater can be closed.

If no asphalt mixture is passed for a long time under the iron plate, the ironing plate needs to be re heated. The heating rod is installed in the rammer and flat plate.
