Su Shimin of the Tsinghua University College of public policy, Caterpillar began to speak 

In September 20th, the Su Shimin Academy of Tsinghua University, Beijing opened the first public policy lecture named by the Caterpillar Inc. On the same day, Professor Samuel Popkin of University of California at San Diego introduced his views on the current US presidential election system to more than 100 Su Shi Min scholars from 31 countries.

Since the lecture is Schwarzman scholars program in September this year at the beginning of the opening ceremony was officially held by the company's first title of the lecture, the lecture series is provided with external scholars, professionals and organizations directly contact learning opportunities for Schwarzman scholars.

In 2013, Schwarzman scholars program by the chairman of the Blackstone Group, CEO and co-founder of Mr. Su Shimin (Stephen A. Schwarzman) to start, significance is to develop an international perspective, comprehensive quality and excellent leadership skills, and understand the Chinese society, understanding Chinese culture future leaders have made important contributions to the changes in the rise and China in the world. The project has received $465 million in donations, the largest single charity donated from abroad so far. At the start of the project, both Chinese President Xi Jinping and the president of the United States, Obama, congratulated them.

The Su Shimin scholar program aims to build a human social and cultural infrastructure to connect western and Chinese cultures and contribute to building a lasting and win-win cooperation between China and other countries in the world. Based on the construction of "a better world" this common goal, Caterpillar as the "forerunner" participated in the donation Schwarzman scholars program first, laid the foundation for the initiation and implementation of the project. In order to recognize Caterpillar's contribution to the project, the Academy will hold eight public policy lectures with the name of the Caterpillar Inc within four years.

The Su Shimin academy is located in the school of Tsinghua University and was built in 2015.
