Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. won "pass" in the international high-end sea management market
DNVGL (Norway CCS & germanische Lloyd) days before the official grant to the Baoshan Iron and steel manufacturing and coating of submarine pipeline process certification. After a half year evaluation, Baosteel has successfully become the only iron and steel enterprise to obtain the certification in China.
Through this certification, Baosteel has achieved the "pass" for developing the international high-end sea pipe market, marking the qualification of bidding for the international large-scale offshore pipeline project, and further enhancing the international competitiveness of the large-diameter longitudinal submerged arc welded pipe of Baosteel.
Because of the special service environment and transport medium, the submarine pipeline is the most difficult and the highest quality variety of all pipeline products. The users at home and abroad are very strict about the safety and stability of the submarine pipeline. In 2010, Baosteel's self developed submarine pipeline pipe was first applied to the Liwan project in the South China Sea, filling the gap in China. Subsequently, Baosteel subsea pipeline has been successfully applied in domestic projects such as CNOOC and CNPC. The quality of products is stable, and tough technical indicators such as toughness, corrosion resistance and dimensional accuracy have all met the needs of users, and have been well received by users.
In December 2012, Norway Classification Society (DNV) and Germanischer Lloyd (GL) signed an agreement with the establishment of the new company DNVGL. DNVGL is one of the world's three leading energy consulting, service companies and leading certification bodies. The cooperation between Baosteel and DNVGL can be traced back to 2002. This year, Baosteel first passed the 140 seamless tube certification of DNV company. Since then, Baoshan steel ship pipe into the Korean market, gradually become Daewoo, Samsung, modern and other well-known shipbuilding enterprises suppliers. In 2010 and 2011, Baosteel obtained the authentication of DNVGL and R4 and R5 series of mooring chain steel in Baosteel.
Baosteel submarine pipeline to further accelerate the pace of expansion in overseas markets, so that Baosteel submarine pipeline to go abroad, to participate in international market competition, in October last year, Baosteel steel tube division led to the formal international authoritative professional third party certification body DNVGL made of sea bottom pipeline certification application. In the authentication process lasted for half a year, Baosteel manufacturing management department, steel mill, plate, and the Central Research Institute of Baosteel, Baosteel engineering technology and other related units, Bao Steel system linkage, close collaboration, eventually passed the manufacturing and coating DNVGL submarine pipeline Fullprocess certification.
The awarding ceremony, DNVGL relevant responsible person said, this is the first DNVGL of the product certification in the whole process of Chinese, advanced equipment, Baosteel professional personnel and management strict and efficient with more in-depth understanding, Baosteel submarine pipeline manufacturing capability represents the advanced level in the world. Baosteel will continue to work to provide more secure and environmentally friendly steel pipe products for users of the global marine energy in the future, and also hopes to cooperate with DNVGL in qualification certification, professional knowledge training and project consultation.
