Holland and South Korea will work together to build huge sea dams

According to the Indonesian International Daily reported on April 8th, the Indonesian government has been making plans for the construction of the capital coastal area (NCICD). Holland and South Korea will work together to build a huge sea dam project.

The day before, director general Mu Kia Di General Secretary of public works and Housing Department Indonesia Water Resources said that the division of labor has been incorporated into the overall planning of dam construction and the sea, will sign a memorandum of understanding in this month (MoU).

He said that, according to the division of labor, the South Korean side will be responsible for collecting the main data and then analyzing and formulating the overall plan by the Holland side. Lu Qi, Deputy Minister for infrastructure and regional development in Indonesia, said the South Korean side will be responsible for the discussion and reconnaissance. The Indonesian government in September 2015 with Holland and South Korea on the implementation of the Jakarta giant sea dam project to reach a consensus.

It is reported that the project of capital integrated coastal zone is proposed by former Jakarta governor Fauzi in a few years ago, the flood in Jakarta District in order to solve the problem. In addition, the project also produces a pool of water reserves in order to supply the demand for the people of the capital. The project began in October 9, 2014, and is expected to cost 500 trillion Indonesian shield (about 38 billion 500 million dollars). It was chaired by Hailu Tanjun, the then Minister of economic co ordination. After President Djoko took office, he asked for a reassessment and improvement of the project.
