President's approval: Obama announced that Losangeles would build a manufacturing center
President Obama announced on the 20 day that he will set up an advanced manufacturing center dedicated to smart sensor technology research in Losangeles, to help us manufacture industry reduce production costs and energy consumption, and improve production efficiency and competitiveness.
According to Xinhua news June 21st, Obama day in Washington to attend the third session of the "United States" Investment Summit said that since 2014 the United States has established 8 advanced manufacturing research center, dedicated to 3D printing, integrated photonic manufacturing and other important disruptive technology, to be set up in Losangeles ninth advanced manufacturing center will be mainly used for the design of intelligent sensor, make all kinds of manufacturing more efficient.
According to a statement released by the White House that day, the new advanced manufacturing center has received approximately $140 million investment, the federal government allocated $70 million to partner surplus funds from more than 30 states nearly 200 private enterprises, academic institutions and non-profit organizations.
Obama also encouraged foreign companies to invest in the United States on the same day. The lower energy prices, excellent higher education, mature capital market, culture of innovation and entrepreneurship were all the advantages of attracting investment in the US. The U. S. Department of Commerce published a statistical report on the day that the United States attracted a record $348 billion in foreign direct investment in 2015.
The Obama administration launched the "choice of America" program in 2011 and held the first and second "choose the United States" Investment Summit in 2013 and 2015. The third "select America" Investment Summit was held in Washington in from June 19th to 21st and about 2400 people from more than 70 countries and regions took part in the summit.
