Recently, the construction of the China Railway Construction Bureau Group fourteen Nanjing Yangtze River tunnel project was awarded the 38 Zhan Tianyou prize Chinese civil engineering. The awarding project covers a number of civil engineering fields including architecture, bridges, railways, tunnels, highways, ports, waterways, water conservancy, municipal and residential areas. The awards include 244 awarding units.

The Zhan Tianyou prize for civil engineering in China was established in 1999, and was organized in the field of civil engineering construction. The award-winning project reflects the innovation and application of the highest level and latest technology in civil engineering in terms of planning, design, construction and management.

The award-winning project embodies a high level of engineering technology innovation. Such as Shanghai Qingcaosha raw water project, the river is a tidal estuary at home and abroad the largest freshwater storage reservoir to avoid salty. The Yangtze River Tunnel Project in Nanjing has solved the construction technology problems of super large diameter tunnel with high water pressure, shallow overburden and complex strata, and constructed a structural safety system for large diameter shield tunnel design, construction and operation process.

Many experts participated in the review said that our civil engineers and technicians have done a lot of innovative practice, which has made important contributions to the technological innovation and technological development of China's civil engineering. Many of the technology and equipment in the field of civil construction in China have already caught up with and reached the advanced level of the world.

Guo Yunchong, director of the China Civil Engineering Society, believes that the field of engineering construction in China faces great opportunities for development and is also facing very severe challenges.
