How to adjust and select the width of the ironing plate?
Answer: The ironing plate of each type of paver has a basic width, that is, the minimum width. This basic width is about 2m for the minicomputer and slightly larger than 3m for the mainframe. If the width of the paving layer is less than the basic width of the ironing plate, it is difficult to spread; if it is larger than the basic width, it can be spread by widening the ironing plate. Widening is not unlimited. At present, the ironing plate of paver is widened up to 12m, and the road surface is wider, so it has to be paved separately by longitudinal joints, or multi-paver is operated in a trapezoidal formation at the same time. The method of widening the ironing plate is that the single-layer ironing plate adopts splicing method and the double-layer ironing plate adopts hydraulic method. It is emphasized here how to combine the width of the ironing plate when the width of the pavement is larger than the maximum width of the widened ironing plate when the ironing plate with single layer is used and operated on a single machine. At this time, the combination principle is that the pavement longitudinal joints under the combination width are the least, and the remaining last pavement is slightly larger than the basic width of the ironing plate. In this way, it can not only ensure the quality of the road surface, but also save man-hour, and avoid the shortcoming of having to use manual paving because the last one is too narrow. When complying with the above principles and combining the width of the ironing plate, it should also be taken into account that the longitudinal joints are best located on the longitudinal marking line of the road surface and should not be located in the middle of the main lane as far as possible. In addition, when widening the ironing plate, the principle of symmetry should be observed, that is, the combined ironing plate should be as symmetrical as possible to the longitudinal axis of the paver. Otherwise, the paver will be easily deflected due to unequal left and right resistance. In order to maintain its direction along the road, the driver has to operate frequently, which endangers the smoothness of the pavement. In the construction of multi-layer pavement, attention should also be paid to avoid overlap of longitudinal joints between upper and lower layers.
